Requirements

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed upon receipt to ensure all qualifications are met.

Applicants will then be scheduled to take the written exam and work performance exam (WPE). Following the written exam, applicants will move on to the (WPE) and be required to complete it in under 10 minutes 47 seconds. If you do not complete the WPE within the time limit, you may be given a future test date to complete the work performance exam. You must successfully complete the WPE to continue in the applicant process.

Successful applicants will be given a conditional job offer and scheduled for a polygraph evaluation, medical examination, fingerprint checks, driving record review, and background investigation. Upon completion, an interview with the fire chief and their designee(s) will take place. If selected for employment, after completion of all the phases of the process, you will be given a formal job offer and a minimum of fourteen days to notify your current employer. You can expect the entire process to take approximately two-three months from the time you first apply to the completion of the process.

Following successful completion of our selection process new members will complete a new hire orientation/skills verification program prior to being assigned to a shift assignment.
