Description
The Virginia State Police is recruiting applicants for the 147th Trooper Basic Session beginning January 25, 2027. Troopers promote highway safety, serve and protect their communities, and enforce the laws of the Commonwealth. Upon graduation troopers receive a take-home patrol vehicle, equipment and uniforms. Successful completion of the Academy earns accredited college credit hours.
Requirements
At least 21 by Academy graduation; high school diploma or GED; U.S. citizen on day of testing; valid driver’s license; pass the Work Performance Test and written exam (National Testing Network), polygraph, background investigation, medical exam and psychological evaluation; must be willing to relocate.
